OUR STORY

While in high school, God gave Dean Inserra a passion to one day plant a church in his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida—an over-churched and under-reached city.

In early 2007, with Scott Simmons (the Well's founding Worship Leader) and a group of close friends, Dean began a Bible study in his parent’s home. After much prayer, this core group decided to begin The Well, a church committed to reaching a lost generation by communicating an everlasting truth in an ever-changing culture. Sunday night Bible studies quickly grew from twenty to several dozen people. During this time, a Sunday evening service was developed throughout the Summer of 2007.

The Well had its first evening service on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Godby High School with 130 people present. Over the next few months, attendance rose, with Easter and Christmas services being held at a local Tallahassee night club and the launch of a morning service in August 2009.

Throughout early 2010, The Well began praying and searching for its first permanent location, being led to the Warehouse and Well Kids Storefront on North East Capital Circle beginning in August 2010.

With attendance still growing, the Well continues to reach out to those in the community and beyond and share with them the life changing love that is Jesus Christ.
